Wyjuana Montgomery, MAOM
Best-Selling Author and Speaker, Wyjuana Montgomery, is a native of Seattle, WA, who relocated to Oklahoma City in 2008, to help launch the Community Relations Department for the Oklahoma City Thunder NBA basketball team. Utilizing her community relations background and passion for empowering her community, Wyjuana founded Reach Forward in 2014. A large part of Reach Forward’s mission is to empower teen girls through 1:1 and group mentorship, events and activities throughout the year. Wyjuana has a genuine heart and passion for working with teen girls. Out of her passion for working with teen girls came her first publication, Bold, Brave and Courageous: A NO FEAR Success Guide for Teen Girls.
Wyjuana travels across the country and internationally (most recently in Gaborone, Botswana), empowering girls through this book. Girls and women alike are taking notice of this work. To-date, Bold, Brave and Courageous has been implemented by three girls mentorship programs across the country with a fourth coming aboard in December 2017. Wyjuana holds a Masters of Arts Degree in Organizational Management from Ashford University and a Bachelors of Arts Degree in African & African-American Studies from Duke University. She remains active in her community as the Public Speaking & Entrepreneurial Presentations Instructor for Women of Impact’s Impact University, Vice Chair of the Capitol Hill High School BITE Advisory Committee, a youth leader in her church and personal mentor to a group of young ladies. Wyjuana is also a wife of 18+ years with 3 children, one grandson and a dog. |
