From Our Members:
Unlike a lot of places that make you promises they don't keep IAN has been brilliant. I would highly recommend that you consider joining them. I have only just joined and already I feel lifted by the twitter post they sent out and how good my author's page looks. THANK YOU! You have restored my faith after several less scrupulous people have taken me for a ride. - Molly Garcia
I have been truly overwhelmed by the support I have received from the administrators at the Independent Authors network .. particularly Erin. The degree of expertise and professionalism that I have experienced since I became an IAN member is a perfect example of the business model to which all large organisations of this type should aspire .. thank you all. - Adrian Musgrave
I love to create words. Sit me down for hours and I will gladly do it. But promoting it diverts me from writing. IAN, thank you for doing what I don't enjoy doing. I have found a promotion soul mate in you. Asante / thank you / danke schoen. - Gloria D. Gonsalves
I am glad that I finally stopped procrastinating and signed up for IAN. I have only submitted a portion of my books (more to be sent in soon!). I am constantly testing and measuring the marketing that I do. The books I listed on IAN had a considerable jump in sales this month. I can only attribute that jump to IAN as I purposely did not market them elsewhere. Thank you for providing such a great service for authors. - Diana Loera
When you start self-publishing, you find there are a million people who want to take money from you and promise you the world in return. After a while, you realise that mostly they are a pack of liars. BUT, William Potter and IAN have definitely made a difference to my sales and exposure - and it is not difficult! Just make sure your page looks great and direct traffic to your page every day. I use Twitter mainly, but am thinking of diversifying. Definitely recommended to indie writers. - Robert Carter
Authors must take advantage of any opportunity to increase name recognition. We can't simply write a book, and expect readers to seek it out. We need to market and we need to keep writing new material. IAN provides a stellar display case for our wares, and tools for marketing according to our needs. - Bernard Lee DeLeo
Like most authors with a debut novel, I launched myself into marketing with every fiber of my being while visions of Oprah’s Book Club danced in my head. I posted HOODOO MONEY on any and every site I could find. Exposure was the name of the game — and the task proved tedious and time-consuming. Then I stumbled onto the Independent Author Network, or IAN to those of us who love it here. I’ve participated on sites equally as organized as IAN, as “big” and well-run, but…BIG BUT, HUGE…none where camaraderie is the standard. Writing, for the most part, is a lonely business. But not here. Tweeting (#IAN1) and re-tweeting happen on a daily basis through IAN, and hundreds of members join in. On any given day, you can post a tweet and have it re-tweeted by at least ten other members within an hour. IAN is in constant motion: newsletters, contests and giveaways, featured authors, videos and promos and links to new favorites. IAN isn’t about one author, or one best-selling book. It’s about every author — and every visiting reader. I don’t think IAN’s founder, William Potter, would settle for anything less. That’s what makes this group so unique, and me so very glad I found them. - Sharon Cupp Pennington
'It's not just the leadership and administrative collaboration that goes into the independent authors network to make it successful - Rather, it is the quality of imagery on the website, the links, the camaraderie, and above all the dedication of readers and authors alike who support this outstanding global network. In one year alone, my book sales grew by 25% as a result of being a member of this unique and amazing collaborative. - Paul Anthony
The Independent Author Network is a quality platform for indie authors to share their work. I've been impressed with the support IAN members provide in tweeting news about my books and in finding other ways we can help each other. I'm glad I joined IAN! - Carol Bodensteiner
As independent authors we're not bound by another timeline, or tethered to difficult working relationships, where book decisions are made by everyone else but the author. This is not to say our books are produced in a vacuum - quite the opposite; the quote “it takes a community to raise a child”, could apply to 'raising a book'. It takes a community to produce, market and support a book; at IAN you’ll find services, support, and camaraderie. You’ll discover great books, written by wonderful people passionate about their craft, and more than willing to pass on their knowledge. IAN gives you a leg up in a competitive world. If you’re not a member, what the heck are you waiting for? - S.L. Coelho
The Independent Author Network is a website well worth joining - friendliest and most supportive authors I've ever met. William Potter is a social media maven, and the welcoming community retweets my novels to their followers, shares my story on their blogs, and passes along helpful tips and advice. - Alana Siegel
I hired a professional publicist to help me with my social networking campaign. The results from the Independent Author Network has far exceeded the results from my 6 weeks with the publicist. Please continue the good work.
- Mike Gilmore
I have been delighted by the exposure that IAN has given my book. They really work hard 24/7 to help independent authors get their work noticed. - Paul Morgan
Since joining IAN a year ago, I've made new friends and had my book promoted through countless Tweets and RTs by friendly IAN members. William Potter does an outstanding job helping authors, even those like me who can't seem to get organized until the very last moment! Bill and the IAN will see to it that an author's work gets noticed. Thank you! - Elle Thornton
I recently joined The Independent Authors Network and I think it is paying off already in turns of book sales and reach. I recommend it to my author friends out there who have stagnating sales rankings, and who don’t get a lot of marketing coverage. - Madeline Sharples
I joined in mid April and for the month of April I had 1,006 hits to that page! All because I tweeted and used the #IAN1 which meant others could re-tweet and as a group we do regularly re-tweet. I would definitely recommend this site to anyone looking for more exposure. - Georgina Hannan
Since joining Independent Author Network over two years ago, I have received important contacts in the industry. The members are helpful in gaining exposure for fellow writers through social media. I would recommend all self published authors to join this wonderful organization. - Richard Guidice
As an Indie author, I offer up the Independent Author Network as a quality website where the Indie writer can present their work in a first-rate, professional manner to eager readers free of the the heavy hand of "Big Publishing." If you are a ravenous reader, there is a veritable smorgasbord of tasty reads from all genres to satisfy your Epicurean palate. Dig in and enjoy! - Jim Yackel
As a member of the Independent Author Network, I'm honored to be included with a great group of more than 2400 excellent authors who represent a broad array of genres. The best part is the support and camaraderie from other authors. For readers, this is a great place to find great reads. Enjoy! - Richard Weatherly
W. Potter has created a wonderfully organized website for professional authors, and authors with the aspiration to be professionals to meet and promote their work. His success reflects in the quality of the directory as well as the number of authors, including myself, who have responded. Love to you all! - Dana Knight
As a successful Indie Author I highly recommend all Indies to join The Independent Author Network where thousands of readers find their books. This site has hundreds of backlinks and ranked very low on Alexa in Google search engine. I'm in the top 100 authors in 3 categories on Amazon alone, and it attribute a lot of my success to being a part of this network where I receive thousands of views per month. - RJ Parker
Independent Author Network is an excellent resource and networking platform for indie authors. I love the exposure it provides and also the ability to connect with fellow authors. - Aditi Chopra
What a fantastic site, bringing together the creativity and hard work of more than a 3,000 authors. The exposure has been astonishing, and I am proud to direct readers to my #IAN1 page. Long live the network! - V T Vaughn
Cool! And such a supportive site, it really makes the difference for authors: you don't feel alone out there on the ether of the Internet. Strongly recommended. - Claude Nougat
I am really pleased with the presentation of my IAN page and also with the support of the team. The exposure is excellent, it all helps to spread the word about an author's work. - Sherrie Lowe
I have to say IAN is a wonderful organization and members are so generous in sharing industry knowledge and supporting one another. Thank you for all the support! - Bette Lee Crosby
I have been overwhelmed by the support I have received from the administrators at the Independent Authors network. I am a novice to such sites and have needed considerable guidance. With their help I am now blogging, twittering and tweeting and thoroughly exploring the websites they have led me to. My BLOG is was set up with help from IAN and I hope to reach out to other members as soon as possible. I am so glad that I found this network, which I must say was by pure chance. Thank you again and keep up the good work. - Joy Gerken
Thank you, William Potter, for Independent Author Network! #IAN1 The professional site is wonderful for readers to go and find authors/books in their genre and beyond. Appreciate the tweets. The publishing business has changed before my eyes, right when I stepped out onto the platform. People in the indie crowd have been supportive and encouraging. It's true indie has great works of art!! The pride and enthusiasm for storytelling is unique and frankly just fun. I have two more novels to be published this year and look to find readers who will enjoy a great story with a good price. C'est bien! - Caroline Clemens
I've been around in the computer game since 1979 when I met Steve Jobs at a tech conference and in all those years have never worked with a company I appreciate more than IAN. - Rolland Love
I have been a member of IAN for a very short time, just over a couple of weeks in fact. Like everyone else in the writing business, time is extremely limited and the one thing I loved about IAN was the ease and speed of joining. William Potter (Bill) the founder was a pleasure to chat with and in no time at all, my profile was up and running. The site is well set out and is so easy to navigate, with plenty of information on using the site if required. There is also the social network where you can hangout with other members and chat about anything and everything. I have had over 500 visits to my IAN page which is amazing in such a short time. I really don't think you can do any better than join IAN. - John Priest UK
I'm honored to belong to IAN. I've discovered some talented authors as a result of my membership. Plus, IAN is an excellent resource for networking and promotion of one's book(s). - Norm Spitzig
Membership in IAN is great for authors and readers alike. Not only is the site beautifully laid out for the reader to discover new books, but for the author support and response when changes are requested is quick and efficient.
#IAN1, Thank You. - Inge H. Borg
I'm still working on my first novel and haven't joined IAN yet. After browsing several author pages I now know what I need to begin my author career in the way of social media and personal websites. I've contacted IAN several times for advice about self publishing, vanity presses, editors, and other publishing services and they responded quickly with wonderful tips and helpful links. Thank IAN. I'll be joining as soon as my first book is released.

From Our Readers:
This is a terrific site for independent authors and for readers looking for something new and unique. The site currently boasts more than 3,000 authors with more than 10,00 books in almost every genre. You can watch video trailers, read samples, check out authors bios, and review book summaries. There are also "Buy Links" for Kindle, Nook, and paperback for most books. And some authors offer discounted purchase options for autographed paperbacks. Wow! The site seems to be growing rapidly...which is great for readers and book enthusiasts. - Reader Review
I am loving this website!! I am an avid reader and I just love access to all these books!! Awesome!!
- R. Elliott, Ripley, MS, USA
Wow! I had no idea there are so many wonderful indie authors. IAN brings talented writers together from across Europe, Australia, and of course from the good ol' US of A. I "check out" 2 or 3 new authors every week and with over 3,000 members I'll wont run out of new authors anytime soon. IAN is a gold mine of undiscovered literary gems. Dig in! - Gina Gustafson, Lake Oswego, Oregon
I have only skimmed through it so far, but from what I have seen.... AWESOME! I love the idea of reading more off the wall authors or newer authors. - C. Haller, Roseville, CA USA
Fantastic place to share information but most importantly to find out about new and independent authors. A great resource and I really admire what you do here. - E. Hopkins, United Kingdom
I've just skimmed through and already have found and purchased a couple of books. Looks very promising.
- C. Merriman , Connecticut
Awesome site! I love it! I'm just sorry that I had not found it earlier! Bookmarking right now!
- S. Grobler, Rustenburg, South-Africa
I received a new Kindle for Christmas and quickly ran up over $200 in download fees for my favorite writers. This for only 15 books! Ahhh...Luckily I found the Independent Author Network on Twitter! After browsing the 3,000 writers represented there I found at least a hundred who caught my interest. (Most sell their books for $2.99 or less because indie authors don't lose their royalties to publishers and agents.) I thought self-published books would be poorly written. WRONG! I love to read on my Kindle and I love IAN because I can read a tonne of great books and still have cash for food etc. lol. If you have a Kindle or NOOK addiction then get over to IAN and fall head-over-heals with indie authors. - Avid Reader and IAN fan
I've been called a bookworm and a bibliophile since I was a little girl. Imagine my excitement when I discovered this site. OMG I'm in heaven! Love books and IAN. - Karen K., Toronto
Since finding this site last summer I've now read most of the 2022 and 2023 IAN Book of the Year Award winners and finalists. GREAT READS! I highly recommend you check them out. - Joe Rankin, Portland
Is your Kindle is running low on fresh books? Yes, then check out the wonderful books on this site. Start with the offerings on the Home page and enjoy! - Kelly Young, Saratoga Springs, N.Y.
