Traci Hilton
The most important thing to know about me is that I am a mother of two. Not four or six or twelve (unless you count the chickens.) But I am not a mommy blogger. My kids amaze me in the normal way that children have been amazing their parents since time immemorial. Which means of course that I deal with potty and booger picking, and potty and booger jokes and messes in general. Oh yes, the kids are 6 and 4. I have high hopes that in time their amazing qualities will include fewer boogers and more scholarships to highly rated and yet local colleges. But that’s what we all want, right? The normal yuckiness to last its normal length and then be replaced with a delightful new predilection for success and love of the home fires.
I am also a die hard childrens ministry worker. Story telling is my favorite job in the ministry. But I am not at all above making and serving themey snacks or leading wild games. And God bless children, truly. They don’t mind that I can’t sing. They are just happy I know all of the motions.
I write novels, under the name Traci Tyne Hilton, as I hope you can see. Otherwise I am not achieving the full marketing potential of the blog. I have about seven on the back burner right now, my personal favorite of which is an homage to Dicken’s Pickwick Papers, set in modern days and starring women. Pinkwick’s Society for Women in Under Appreciated Academics may not be the making of me but someday, just someday, it may find it’s niche .
I’ve written some 10 one act plays. Holding my real live book in my hand was second only to seeing my words on stage. That is a thrill I will never get over and hope to enjoy again someday.
I have written newsletters, grant proposals, round robins, blogs (www.fundynutter.com), essays on etymology (www.fredslist.com), grocery lists, Bible studies, Sunday School curriculum, church bulletin inserts, bucket lists, novels, short stories, history essays, and plays. I hope to do many more of the above, God willing and the creek don’t rise.
I can be found frequently on facebook (Traci Rothery Hilton) or less frequently but more pithy on twitter.
