SK Benton
S.K. Benton grew up in Oregon, reading science fiction and watching Star Trek episodes over and over again (thanks, syndication!). Always having an almost unreal love for anything sci-fi, he would jot down little stories on paper and draw make-believe movie promo posters. But when the social media revolution struck it was his chance - he started writing short chapter sci-fi adventures on his blogs for all the world to see.
Compiling his stories into novel form, he rewrote everything (as his stories were all first-person narrative). Names changes, locations, times, characters; he improved his earlier works and Max was born. And Jennie. Well, and Draagh and Krynos. If a real-life country is mentioned in his books, he has been there. This personal experience enables him to create extremely detailed narratives that are easily corroborated by others who have been to the same locales. Benton is an expert in martial arts, speaks Spanish fluently and is semi-fluent in three other languages, is a computer programmer and an expert-level alpine skier, as well as an avid surfer, mountain biker and target shooter. If he's not in his Southern California home he is either in the Northern California mountains (most likely Mammoth Mountain) or hanging out with a relative in another country. Or he could be at Comic-Con, dressed up as some random Japanese manga character (he likes to sew also. Weird, we know). |
"Lives of Future-Past" is his first novel in "The Chronicles of Max Gunnarsson" series, with book #2, "Lives of Lost Angels" already in development. As he lets his imagination go nuts he hopes that readers will enjoy Max's world(s) and get into the whole "beautiful lycans/ugly vampires" feel of everything.
And "S.K." really are his initials.

Lives of Future-Past
Science-Fiction/Fantasy
Welcome to Max's world. Or, more appropriately, his worlds. He's a lycan. He's also a mage. Oh, and his father is the most bad-ass of all the archangels - he just doesn't know any of it yet, but when he finds out, his life is turned even more upside-down than it already is, having stolen the pinnacle of his planet's technology for his own purposes. Add a super-hot (and ultra-violent) lycan girl of South American descent, time travel, a god-like grandfather with a penchant for herb, and some particularly nasty (and rotting) vampires and you are sitting right in the middle of chaos. Max's chaos. Lives of Future-Past is the first installment in author SK Benton's series, The Chronicles of Max Gunnarsson. The book's follow-up is targeted for an early Fall 2014 release. |
