Hello. We are Lee and Gary Jordan, and we are THE PHOENIX.
We are passionate readers, reading many different genres. As a writer team, we don't intend to go with custom and stick to one genre. We have several novels in the works. We enjoy getting to know readers and other authors via the Internet, love movies, and sitting outside to soak up the Southern California sun. We live in Hollywood with our crabby tomcat, Snickers. Lee wrote A Whisper from Eden. She loves researching and is never content with the way things are explained, and likes looking into the nooks and crannies and wondering, what if? Gary is a third generation Californian, born and raised in Anaheim. He has always had an insatiable curiosity about everything. He was involved with telecommunications for many years and now has his own business. He has always been a happy, laidback person. But now he has something to be very intense about. Lee invited him to help her with a paranormal thriller she had in mind, and once he sat down at the computer and started, his life transformed. He found his real passion – writing fiction. He has never been so excited to do something in his entire life. |

In 1827, 16-year-old, idealistic Clayton Pinckney leaves his home and family in South Carolina in search of the strange Mandan in North Dakota, the same tribe that Louis and Clark found in their journey. He wants to be a writer and is looking for a good story. He believes he will find it on the wild plains of the great northwest. After an arduous journey, he finds their villages perched high upon lofty cliffs overlooking the turbulent waters of the Missouri River, like walled fortresses and ruling kings from medieval times. Clayton is delighted with the exotic Mandan and their stories of gods from the past. He feels these are just lovely fairy tales until he finds that the rich and powerful Mandan can wield magic, magic taught to them by their great god Lone Man, one of the People from Above. Clayton falls hopelessly in love with the beautiful and sometimes frightening medicine woman, Crying Wind, but she will not return his attentions. To win her, he becomes deeper and deeper involved with the tribe. Then a devastating and evil catastrophe hits the plains. The Mandan's beloved Lone Man had promised them that if they were ever in serious trouble, he would return in his chariot that sped through the sky like a comet. Will he return to help the Mandan as promised?
