I'm Pete Buckley; the UK based indie author of "The Colonel of Krasnoyarsk" a high speed adventure thriller in which the reader is introduced to Russian Agent Colonel Yuri Medev as well as to Jim Bergman of the FBI and Juli Regan; a young dance student from New York City. I am currently editing the next Yuri Medev adventure; entitled "The Kirov Conspiracy" due for release very soon, while previously I wrote a couple of travel stories about various wonderful places such as New Zealand and the Swiss Alps. Aside from writing, travel has always been a big inspiration with hiking, mountain biking and the outdoors taking up much of my time when I'm not looking after the kids.
Incidentally, a few people have asked about my profile pic... The chappie with me is Dino Expert and Minecraft Ace Daniel; who acted as my mountain guide on this ascent of the Aiguillette des Posettes near Chamonix in the French Alps... Thanks for visiting!

When the discovery of a murdered FBI Agent in a Manhattan apartment coincides with the arrival in New York city of a mysterious high ranking Russian agent from Siberia; a high speed manhunt is sparked that begins in the city streets and leads the dead agent's former partner Jim Bergman, deep into the woods of New England. The elusive Russian spy however is not what he at first appears and new plans must be made quickly if the real killer is to be found and Bergman is to escape the fate that befell his partner. The Colonel of Krasnoyarsk is a fast moving adventure thriller that introduces Colonel Yuri Medev of the Russian Military Intelligence service, the GRU; and Agent Jim Bergman of the FBI who are brought together in an unexpected alliance against a common enemy - the shadowy international gang boss known as Nikovich. Medev's own plans are further disrupted by a chance encounter with beautiful dance student Juli Regan on the night of his arrival in the City, but does he unwittingly put one of the few people he cares about in danger... There can be no more enduring and instantly recognizable symbols of the Alps than the Eiger and the Matterhorn. These two great mountains have inspired climbers throughout Europe and further afield while the villages of Grindelwald and Zermatt; nestling beneath their peaks have become world famous resorts. "A Long Walk in the Alps" recounts a journey that begins under the shadow of the Eiger's infamous north wall and finishes in the high meadows beneath the soaring ridges of the Matterhorn. The trail from Grindelwald leads firstly through the idyllic Jungfrau Region before heading off through high passes, forgotten valleys and sleepy alpine villages on the way to its destination in Zermatt.
