Peggy Fields Richardson!
Peggy Fields Richardson!—yes, with the “!”—grew up in rural Middle Tennessee, and loved the sound of leaves crunching underfoot as she wandered the woods in search of the perfect reading spot. As a child, Peggy! dreamed of acting and writing and world travel, but no one talked to girls about going to college in the early 1970’s, so after high school, came marriage and a family. The challenge of raising a child born with an open spine and tethered spinal cord—teaching that child to be independent and solve problems and stand up for herself—transformed Peggy! into a resilient, resourceful, adult who doesn’t accept “no” as a final answer. “One of my favorite stories is one my daughter tells. She says, ‘my mom always said, ‘I’ll do it myself,’ said the Little Red Hen, and so she did.’
“I’m an activist who loves laughing,” Peggy! says, “If I see something in the world that needs changing, I try to change it. And when I laugh, I laugh all over!” |
At 58 years old, Peggy! plans to move to Hollywood and pursue her passions for writing and acting in the upcoming months, “and I actually HATE being responsible,” she says, “because it means I continue to work a full-time job while pursuing my dreams… it’s hard to be creative around a 40+-hour work week! It would be so much easier to just follow my dreams.”
“There are always a dozen projects on my plate,” she says, “from voiceover/narration work to putting together a website/blog, to writing a script, a memoir, or a book of poetry, to auditioning and cooking family meals. I’m a dreamer and a doer. I don’t know any other way to live. ”

memoir, erotica
A struggling single mother working four jobs to care for her spine-damaged child couldn't take anymore. Stress, fatigue and overwhelming responsibilities drained her, and being served the foreclosure notice on her home after a 13-hour work day was the end of the line. Lights, water and phone were about to be suspended, she and her daughter would soon have nowhere to live, so bills be damned! She decided on a plan of action that would end her struggles, but until then, she intended to make her daughter the happiest kid in town. They laughed, went to the movies, fed ducks at the park, and had fun. And one little glimmer of hope sparked inside of her. She gave herself--and her child--just one more chance, and became the Heidi Fleiss of phone sex. This larger-than-life single mom talked trash and learned to THRIVE.
