Paul Bernardi
A love of all things historical has been a constant theme in my life: from visiting Kind Edward I's stunning castles in Wales as a child through studies at school and thereafter at the University of Leeds, where I focussed on the Anglo-Saxon period.
I started writing seriously around the year 2000, but it was not until 2014 that I finally managed to complete and publish my first novel: To the Devil His Due. It's a story that imagines what might have happened had the British executed their plans to assassinate Hitler towards the end of the second world war. With the children that bit older, I find i have more time available to pursue my passion for writing. I have recently completed a draft of my second novel that is set in 1066 and follows the adventures of a young Saxon huscarl experiencing the cataclysmic events of that year. |
To The Devil His Due
Second World War Thriller
It was a suicide mission. Sending two men deep into the heart of Nazi Germany with orders to assassinate Hitler and end the war for good. Would they be able to evade capture? Would they be able to get close enough to the most closely-guarded man in the world? And, when the time came, would they be able to pull the trigger. |
