Michelle Webster
Michelle Webster is an author and poet. She has studied psychology and mental health extensively and has degrees in psychology and in psychiatric nursing. Her writing often takes on a dark flare and explores the depth of the human experience whether in this reality or a newly imagined one. She writes about many things from dystopia, science fiction, and fantasy to stories about mental illness and family dysfunction. Her studies and her own personal experiences are a great resource to her. She loves to dream of space travel, the stars and other worlds, this too an inspiration for her writing.
Michelle also writes poetry, mainly confessional poems, something that has been her passion since she was twelve, long before she ever wrote fiction. For a time, she was Editor and Founder of Cerulean Rain, a former online literary magazine.
When she is not writing or reading, she works as a psychiatric nurse. She maintains her home in Canada, the place she grew up and where she spends her time with her many pets. Michelle loves to read, especially science fiction and fantasy – so she can escape into another world for part of every day.
Michelle’s debut novel published under the pen name Lindsey Webster. These days she is focused on writing science fiction and fantasy, her favourite genre, so the worlds that she imagines in her head all the time can be written down on paper. Escape the Lion's Den is her first science fiction novel and the first series she has written. She looks forward to further delving into The Lion's Den series.

Escape the Lion's Den
Dystopian
How do you save your sister when she vanishes in the night? What if you vanish too? You will fight your way home. You will fight for her. But with the cost of freedom so high, what if death and retribution are the only ways home? The days before... ASHER LAY THERE LOOKING UP AT THE STARS AS THEY DOTTED THE BLACK SKY. Orion was his favourite constellation, the starting point for mapping the sky. Orion the Hunter. His father taught him that. "Where are the other worlds, Asher? The ones with life so different than here." Sadie interrupted him as she always did. She was a dreamer. He let his little sister dream while he kept them all safe. Safe in the poor, safe in an invisible trench lined with barbed wire. Home, the poor, was vast and forgotten and ended at a massive wall no one could see over. The other side they nicknamed the rich, the land of extravagance beyond their reach. But this was a land of thieves too. A place that sent dark cars into empty streets. People in the poor disappeared. No one snatched ever came home. Until now. |
