Having studied zoology, but also having an equal passion for writing and the myths, monsters and more unnatural histories of the world, Luke Phillips has always combined these pursuits with chilling stories of the unseen and shadowy creatures that might just inhabit the less explored regions.
From trekking through California looking for Bigfoot to camping out in the Highlands on the trail of real-life reported big cats, Luke has strayed from the mainstream into the eerie world of cryptozoology. There, truth may well be stranger and far scarier than fiction! Luke lives in the West Kent town of Sevenoaks in the UK. He has always been encouraged to write by teachers and avid readers alike. He now plans to continue doing so.

In Shadow Beast, the strange phenomenon of Britain’s mystery big cats is explored. Set in the Highlands of Scotland and referencing many real cases from the past, the story revolves around a conservationist and former big game hunter who is forced to confront not only his past, but also an animal the likes of which he never wanted to face again. As the rampage of the animal continues, a much more human adversary seeks him out. Finding his way of life and the woman he loves threatened by the creature, he has no choice but to seek the creature out.
