LISANNE VALENTE, born in Edinburgh, is part of a close-knit family with origins in Italy, Germany, Ireland and Scotland. This diverse heritage, she believes, is the foundation to her vivid imagination. She is married to her childhood sweetheart and has three sons and a wonderful daughter-in-law.

At age 4, Lauren Chisholm declared she had the ‘most gorgeoustist, sparkly, friend in all the worlds, whose voice sounds like singing’. Her parents thought about taking her to a psychiatrist, in the hopes that Lauren would forget all about her ‘favouritemost friend’. But they knew who she was talking about... and what she was talking about: an angel. Their only course of action was to tell Lauren that some things were pretend and most definitely… not real. They knew it was wrong, but they were unsure of how else to help her. Lauren was an earthbound human, and to fantasise about a world she would not be allowed to enter was just not acceptable to them.

Now, pandemonium is about to erupt.

Up in The Heavens, Ambriel, the angel of communications, is worried. He has discovered an anomaly in his Book of Mistdreamers; the Chisholm family had managed to slip through without registering years ago and are now in great danger. There is a Traitor at work. 

Meanwhile, Forcas, the angel of invisibility and a member of The Infidelibus, (a band of angels sworn to protect Mistdreamers), has been chosen to make contact with Lauren to help her realise her Mistdreaming potential. The continuing saga of the Park Family, Valerie follows on from her cousin Lauren’s story. Valerie Chisholm is a teacher with a difference... She is a Mistdreamer. Valerie and her cousins, Lauren and Mairi, were hidden by their parents from Ambriel, the angel of communication. They wished a life of normality for their daughters and purposely avoided registering them in the Angels’ Book of Mistdreamers. This oversight has now cast them into a world of danger and fear, exposing Valerie to the evil machinations of the mad demon, Lucias. He will stop at nothing to have her, even if it means destroying all she knows and loves... 

The Veil had recently been compromised by the demon now known as Lucias the Corrupt. He had perpetrated numerous assaults on The Veil, which resulted in opening access to other worlds. The angels guarding The Veil had done their best to restore it, but unseen demons had been able to gain entry to the worlds that had been so carefully safeguarded.

Each of the three Mistdreamers has been allocated a personal guardian, a member of the Infidelibus – angels, sworn to protect all Mistdreamers. Prince Seere, a demon prince of Hell, has been assisting the Infidelibus in their struggle to prevent another War of Angels and has been given the task of being Valerie’s protector. Seere is not all he appears to be, but he has made a vow with the angels to protect Valerie. His only recourse is to take her to a world he has not entered in centuries and hope that the Queen of The Fae will grant him safe passage!
