Lindsay Edmunds lives a quiet normal life in southwestern Pennsylvania, except when she is writing. Her fiction reflects two longstanding interests: fantasy and the relationships people have with machines. The first computer she ever owned was a Mac Plus, circa 1988. That little beige toaster changed her life.

WARNING is a dystopian fairy tale set in the waning years of the 22nd century in the Reunited States. Conflict is brewing between e-beasts and people for dominion over Networld. As e-beasts increasingly gain control of Networld, humans become more and more desperate. A tribe of e-beasts called The Dreadful Night have a vendetta against the human race. The Dreadfuls prank people at every opportunity and do not care about the collateral damage they do in Networld. Taz Night and Anna Ringer, the main human characters in the prequel (CEL & ANNA), deal with unwanted fame and a rocky relationship. Cel, the artificial intelligence entity who loved Anna when he lived in a computer body, is now an e-beast. He is on a hero’s quest to re-establish good order in Networld. Something else happens instead.

Cel & Anna is the prequel to Warning: Something Else Is Happening. It is about how Cel woke up one day and told his owner Anna that he loved her because “the roads without end all lead back to you.” Cel is Anna’s worker-companion computer. He was living in a body made of metal, silicon, and plastic at the time. The more Cel tries to prove his love, the more chaos he ushers into Anna’s life. Eventually, she and her boyfriend Taz are forced to run for their lives from Public Eye. Cornered and facing separation from Anna, Cel dives into Networld, leaving that metal, silicon, and plastic body behind like shed skin.
