Linda Wichman
Linda (Holloway) Wichman is a hopeful romantic and teller of tall-tales that are influenced by her Celtic heritage, history, legends and love for sci-fi fantasy. Her debut novel the Legend of the Emerald Rose through Kregel Publications was honored with an American Christian Fiction Writers Book of the Year Award, Christy Finalist, Romance Writers of America WA-FHL Finalist, Golden Heart Finalist, Reader's Choice Nominee and the Romantic Times Top Pick.
Linda’s passion for historical research inspired her tagline, ‘Legend begins where truth ends . . . or is it the other way around?’ Not to get lost in the fray Linda’s pen-partner, Cj Daniels, has yet to make his/her debut because they are hatching Steampunk plots. For stress relief, she pens Stargate SG-1 at fanfiction.com by the penname of HDorothy and has won several awards. |
Along with being an affiliate of the American Christian Fiction Writers, Romance Writers of America and Fox Hollow Writers, Linda is a speaker, blogger, mentor and dreamer. She praises God for allowing her to pursue her passion and to write for His glory.
A misplaced Celt in Wisconsin, Linda rarely takes herself seriously and neither do her husband, married children, rambunctious grandsons and two felines. Linda happily resides with her husband at Maple Tor Manor penning the Emerald Rose saga, YA Steampunk, and romances while sipping Chai Tea Lattes and devouring freshly baked scones. Alas, much of the previous sentence is a work of fiction!
Her second fantasy novel Briar’s Rose continues the fantastical Pendragon le Fey legacy of the Emerald Rose and the Steward Chronicles.

Briar's Rose
Historical Fantasy Romance
Over a thousand years after Camelot, the descendants of King Arthur and Merlin continue their legacy as high stewards on the Isle of Might, and guardians of the Emerald Rose talisman; an amulet forged for Merlin’s greatest ancestor, Joseph, governor of Egypt and King David and Solomon. Legend says the Emerald Rose wields magic, truth says only a righteous king will know.
It is 1192, the Crusades—Guardian of the Emerald Rose, Tamar Rose fitz Alan (Stewart) possesses telepathy and the gift of prophecy. When the Sultan Saladin demands the Emerald Rose talisman for her cousins lives, feisty Tamar concedes on the condition that she accompanies the talisman to King Richard’s camp in Acre, and causes her guardian angel, Tomas, to ponder if he’s the right angel for the job.
Templar Knight Somerled mac Gillebride (MacDonald) would rather battle Saladin’s army than escort the child-bride that he long abandoned. The brat he called a briar has become a rose! From the Isle of Arran, Scotland to the battlefields of Acre, Tamar and Somerled confront diabolical dangers until Somerled makes a decision that will test their love, and could alter the destiny of the City on the Hill, Jerusalem.
Briar's Rose release is tentatively set for late 2014.
