John Bentley
John Bentley is a new novelist. Having won Harrow School ‘s top history prize, he left, aged 18, for a life of adventure to travel the world for several years. Returning to the UK in 1960, he was an initiate of the new world of liberated youth, of sex, drugs and rock and roll, and by age 30 had become a media tycoon producing the cult movie The Wicker Man. A friend of the Beatles and Rolling Stones, he lived between London, Paris and New York. He studied philosophy and metaphysics in the newly discovered then backwater of Ibiza and a mansion in the remote highlands of Scotland. Always controversial, he started the UK’s first video retail stores in the 80's and invented Internet TV in the 1990's. With numerous relationships with the rich and beautiful hitting the celebrity pages, he disappeared to sail half way round the world. With several marriages and children behind him, now living on Portugal’s Algarve coast, he has turned his hand to writing with The Royal Secret – his first novel of historical fact and fiction combining mystery, romance and conspiracy; and hopefully not the last.
