Joanne Rencher
Joanne ('Jo') is a wife, mother of 3 children, and woman with a passion for helping other women to get to their next level of greatness. With 25 years of business leadership experience, Joanne ('Jo') currently provides HR consulting to clients, working at the intersection of strategy, people and culture. Having led complex change initiatives across a variety of industries, Jo has worked domestically and globally at the C-level for major conglomerates, iconic nonprofits and social entrepreneurs. Mostly recently, Jo served as the first ever Chief Business and Talent Officer for the National Headquarters of the Girl Scouts. She held responsibility for all talent and culture activities; and the strategic leadership of the Girl Scouts' Property Assets.
Prior to that role, Joanne served as the VP of Human Capital for The New Teacher Project (TNTP) and as a nonprofit consultant, leading innovations in the education reform and nonprofit sectors, respectively. Before working as a nonprofit consultant, Joanne served as the Chief People Officer for the American Red Cross in Greater New York where she held both human resources and P&L responsibilities as a member of the executive team. In 2001, she was recruited to build a global unit from the ground floor, ultimately leading a matrixed team on 4 continents and in 6 countries for the first public- private partnership, heavily funded by the Gates Foundation, to work on R&D/advocacy for an AIDS vaccine - the International AIDS Vaccine Initiative (IAVI). She began her career in a bond insurance company, part of the GE/GE Capital conglomerate and as a member of the team that led a proactive company 'reinvention', winning several leadership awards. |
