Jennifer Gibson
Jennifer is an award-winning published author, photographer, graphic designer, and public speaker.
She has travelled from coast to coast throughout Canada giving presentations to Health and Welfare Canada, Canadian Hard of Hearing Association, Board of Eduction, Unitron, Sir James Whitney School for the Deaf, and the International Women’s Day March (Belleville). Jennifer is extremely committed to raising awareness about living with hearing loss and changing the perceptions associated with it through her work as an author and speaker. Jennifer was selected as one of 12 winners for the prestigious 2010 Oticon Focus on People Award and the only Canadian to have won in this national competition (North America). She was nominated as an outstanding individual with a hearing loss and for the portrayal of a hearing impaired teen in her young adult novels. The HearStrong Foundation in Syracuse, NY, named Jennifer Gibson a HearStrong Champion (2015) for her dedication to helping change the stigma surrounding hearing loss. Her novels have won numerous awards and received five star reviews. Jennifer’s short story, Blue Moon, recently won Honorable Mention in the 85th Annual Writer’s Digest Writing Competition.
