Toby's Tale
Middle Grade Children
Toby’s Tale is the endearing and captivating story of a sweet Schnauzer puppy on his own journey of discovery. What he discovers is that the big world is full of challenges, excitement, sadness, cruelty and yes, love and kindness. It’s a difficult journey, one full of tough choices, but he perseveres and survives until one day, his tenacity pays off and he finds the love he truly craves, along with a fur-ever home. Told in the first person, the plot develops from Toby’s early memories as a puppy, through his difficult decision to leave his mother and sister so they have a chance at a better life, to the struggles he endured in the world beyond his safety net until he finds what every dog ultimately wants. Toby’s Tale is full of colorful characters — both two-legged and four-legged — who play key roles as Toby takes each step of his journey. Narrating from Toby’s point of view allows the reader to feel all the emotions and challenges this young dog faces. Toby’s story is heart-wrenching at times, but also full of compassion and all that is good in life. |
