Jake Cardigan

Born in Dublin, Ireland. Now living in Florida with his wife Jan, two dogs, two cats, one tortoise and one horse. A former seaman with the British Merchant Navy, he later served with the Grenadier Guards in London, Libya and the jungles of West Africa before becoming an international business consultant with worldwide connections. He was travelled extensively including Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Hong Kong, China, Taiwan, India, South Korea, Japan, North America, Brazil, Venezuela, Canada, West Indies and most of Europe.

He recently turned his hand to writing when the economy left Florida- shortly after he arrived. With a strong belief that 'Life is a journey and not a destination" he started up a new career.

Never far from his Celtic roots his writing and conversation are imbued with Irish humor and philosophy.

This inciting event marked the beginning of the end for King Charles reign: the start of Colonel Matthew Farrell's ruthless quest for power: his vendetta against the Earl of Barnford: the heinous crime committed against one innocent young Irishman and the ruthless oppression of the Irish people by Cromwell's forces. It follows the fortunes of the men and their womenfolk as they plot and fight their way through to 1660, which saw the restoration of the monarchy and many personal scores finally settled - or were they? The story continues in PART TWO.

PART TWO. Opens over 300 years later in 2008 and shows that what goes around in the river of time-comes around. Old grudges continued by direct bloodline descendants of the original characters. The old tools of war are replaced with the modern tools of financial and technological skullduggery. Into the increasing tensions building around Barnford steps the beautiful history professor and her paranormal companion, determined to solve the Mystery of the Missing Earl. Their presence acts as the catalyst to ignite the restless souls who sense the time has come to finish the business started so many years before. Emotions fill the air as time runs out for the Abbey's occupants.
