MYRIDDIA, Book One
Mature Young Adult
In MYRIDDIA, Book One, Darrah Brooks is just an average small-town girl, wondering if her younger sister will ever like her and trying not to worry about the mystery pain she’s been suffering, until she’s given a letter that will change everything. At first, Darrah dismisses the letter as all lies—until Thane and Kine show up, knowing more about her than just about anybody. They convince her the crazy letter is real. They tell her the pain in her joints means she’s about to shift for the first time into her animal alter-form. She could be a panther like Thane and Kine, as her father was, or one of the butterfly-like Sway clan as her biological mother had been, they won’t be sure until it happens. They tell her the first time hurts—a lot. Darrah must to leave the only home she’s ever known and rule as Queen in a new land while suffering the guilt of leaving her human family behind. In Myriddia, she’ll meet new family, new friends, maybe fall in love, and learn how to fight Barut, the mass-murdering dragon-lizard leader of the Ressa, because war is coming, it’s just a matter of how soon. |
