Debbie Winnekins Deutsch
Debbie Winnekins Deutsch was born and raised in Northwest Illinois. She was one of those kids who’d sneak a stack of books and a flashlight under the covers and read until she fell asleep or got caught. As she grew, so did her love for books and eventually writing. Throw Away Sisters is her first YA novel. She has a husband, grown children, beautiful grandchildren, and two cats and a dog who think they are in charge. Debbie’s Motto: Don’t be afraid to express yourself. Write. Draw. Paint. Sing. Dance. Do it for you. Believe in you. Have fun. Find that spark and you’ll always have joy in your heart.

Throw Away Sisters
YA, Coming-of-age
Throw Away Sisters is the compelling tale of fifteen-year-old Cart, and her eleven-year-old sister, Lucy. When the grown-ups in their lives fail them, their options become stay, and contend with the dangers of abuse, or run away. They now face the most unacceptable outcome imaginable, the threat of separation. Throw Away Sisters is a tale of longing, sacrifice, and ultimately, hope. |
