Cydney Iris Afriat Menihan
Cydney's professional life was that as a nurse midwife, birthing babies and teaching just about everything related to women's health care. She published many professional manuscripts, research studies, and textbooks throughout her career, but this is her first birth from her heart and soul: a journey through her family's history. Cydney spends her golden years with her husband Jack, living between Wakefield, RI and Ormond Beach, FL, as well as traveling the world.

Memoir
BREAKING NEWS: The war between fact and fiction rages on, with fact taking major hits and setbacks, and the potential for danger and damage escalates. It's making me nuts. Totally. These days I question just about everything more than ever before, and I was suspicious before. Trust me, I’ve become a self-proclaimed gold-medal "googlist" and Wikipedia junkie. I am incapable of having a conversation without my fully-charged device in hand, ready to fact-check all facets of the conversation. I am becoming obnoxious but refuse to detox because now, lo and behold, I’ve heard there may be an “alternative truth”, a flexible truth, so to speak. Really? Intriguing, I'd say. So I had to wonder about my own life: how true were all those mind-boggling legends that captivated my childhood imagination? With no one still alive to help set me straight, it eventually precipitated my expedition through the labyrinth of the internet, searching for answers which ultimately formed the backbone of this lightly fictionalized family memoir,By Way of Conshohocken . If such a concoction piques your interest, please join me, The Itch, on a spirited journey through the 20th century alongside some of the members of my family as I weave together their lives with historical fact, utilizing Wikipedia and other references, along with fantastical dialogue! |
