Christopher Kelly

Mr. Kelly was born in Sacramento California. He earned a BA in Philosophy from UC Berkeley in 1981. Mr. Kelly worked for nearly twenty years in the Television industry mainly on the West coast. He served as a director and partner in local TV stations in Seattle and Sacramento. Exiting the TV industry in 1997, Mr. Kelly has served on numerous company and non-profit boards. He is the past Chairman of Chyron Corporation (now ChyronHego, ticker: chyr) where he remains on the board.
Mr. Kelly has had a lifelong passion for military history. America Invades: How America has invaded or been Militarily Involved with nearly every Country on Earth is his first book. Mr. Kelly is married and has three children. He lives in London and Seattle. |

Kelly and Laycock take readers on a global tour of America’s military involvement with nearly every country in the world. From the Halls of Montezuma to the shores of Tripoli and everywhere in between, this popular history documents the triumphs and the tragedies of American forces serving overseas. Americans helped to invade Columbia in 1741. Our most recent invasion occurred in the spring of 2014 when American hackers invaded Minecraft Denmark! America has invaded eighty-four out of 194 countries (countries recognized by the United Nations and excluding the United States) in the world. That’s 43 percent of the total. And it hasn’t been militarily involved with just ninety or a hundred countries. It has had some form of military involvement with a spectacular 191 out of 194. That’s more than 98 percent. Yep, we haven’t really been militarily involved with Andorra, Bhutan, or Liechtenstein. Sometimes for better, sometimes for worse, America has had a vast impact around the globe. US naval forces raided England in 1778 during the American Revolution. We have invaded Canada many times. The Polar bear expedition invaded Northern Russia in 1918. The book includes color photography, maps and an index. |
