Welcome to my page, I am happy to share my world with you.
I am a creative writer and my first book ‘Ms’Guided Angel’ was published in the summer of 2010, a journey from sexual abuse, to broken relationships, mothering six beautiful children, dancing and becoming a healer for others. My second published book is ‘Reclaimed Innocence’ which is a follow up to Ms'Guided Angel and explores ways in which we have lost our innocence, seen as the 'inner-sense' of who we are and how we can reclaim that and be more creative and curious about life, it includes some of my adventures within the shamanic territories of the imagination and spirit worlds. My third book is a poetry book called 'SHE has a Voice' which includes many poems I have written since I was a teenager and some of which are included in my other books, compiled into one. At present I am writing ‘The Circle, The Fire & The Phoenix.’ I am very passionate about the work I offer, holding workshops and retreats for healing, often including writing and creativity. I have 30 years experience in the healing arts and I am now an accredited Movement Medicine Guide and Shamanic practitioner. I trained in the 5 Rhythms practice in 1999. In 1986 I gained a diploma in herbal medicine. I now work closely with the School of Movement Medicine of which I am a guest teacher. |
My passion is in the exploration of human and non-human soul, to liberate the dancer in us and to help us find our own true creative and eco-identity. I’ve been involved in movement discipline since 1994 and have danced since childhood. I’m passionate about the animal kingdom and I use traditional shamanic techniques to reconnect us to the world and spirit of the primal and innocent. Teaching a blend of my own work ‘Alchemy In Movement’ I incorporate my studies & trainings, which involve as much creativity as possible, dance, ritual & art, women’s work, time in the natural world and creative ‘rites of passage.’ Soul retrieval, ceremony and shamanic journeys are the tools I use combined with the practice of Movement Medicine.
I’m presently co-creating the movie ‘Ms’Guided Angel’ with my partner and film maker Ben Cole. Ben and I met on a plane going to visit Shamans in Colombia, we fell in love on that journey and have a very inspiring and creative life together.
I am a very proud Mother of six wonderful (now adult) children, three sons and three daughters and I am a Grandmother of three.

Autobiography
Written by Caroline Carey, a Movement Medicine teacher and student who has taken the journey through a 5 Rhythms training, brought up six children and healed from sexual abuse and challenging relationships. She shares her dance, poetry and shamanic journey. An honest and thought provoking story for her readers. Despite growing up in idyllic English countryside, dwelling in enchanted gardens and riding ponies, Caroline's intriguing life was shadowed by a dark presence. At 16 and pregnant she was thrust into working class poverty, with a blind boyfriend, and betting offices. With determination and her wild imagination, she unleashes the free dancing spirit that has been her saving grace throughout childhood. Rearing her six children and coping with a succession of dramatic and challenging relationships, she delves into the world of shamanism, ritual and medicine, on her way to becoming a mystical teacher. She discovers the passion of moving her body and connecting with her heart, can transform every aspect of her life. Her work is very original, provocative, challenging, sexy, raw and full of passionate fiery wisdom. 'Reclaimed Innocence' Anyone who has experienced extreme trauma in their childhood will know something of feeling numb, of detachment and the inability to be fully present in day-to-day living. Shock and trauma can detach us from reality, from relationships and from what we love. We try to avoid situations that remind us of that original trauma but in order to fulfill our lives we need to find a way to re-enter the world and face what has happened in the past. Caroline seeks ways to acknowledge the innocent within us all, as well as searching for more authentic ways in which to overcome our difficulties as humans.

'SHE has a Voice' Caroline Carey's first poetry book. A writer of her own autobiography ‘Ms’Guided Angel’ (published in 2010) and subsequent book 'Reclaimed Innocence' (2012) Caroline compiled her poetry from her books and more, after popular request. Her poems are not of the ordinary and encourage the reader or listener to dig deeply into their own imagination and sense the subtle yet life affirming words that make Caroline's poems a treasure trove with soulful connections to the human, the natural and the animal worlds. Here you can journey to the corners of your mind often not explored, to the further most reaches of your heart and tap into emotions that may never have been brought to life. You may wonder at your own imagination and where you have left it behind!
