Barry Woodham
Barry Woodham was born in 1943 and has lived in Swindon, Wiltshire in England all of his life. He is married with three sons all in their late forties and lives happily in retirement with his wife Janet! (50 good years & more to come!) He spent his working life as a design engineer/draughtsman and worked on the nuclear fusion project for thirteen years. Finding himself with nothing to read one lunch-time, he began to write the saga of the Gnathe and the Genesis Project. The thought occurred to him that any life form evolved to live in this world would not be able to cope with the micro-organisms of another eco-system on an alien planet. After many of his colleagues began to read the chapters as quickly as he could finish them he continued on and finished the first book.
The alien Gnathe are instinctive genetic engineers and alter living creatures to be their tools by the use of their brooding pouches, controlled by the third sex. This first book is set millions of years after the sun has entered its red giant stage and is set on a vastly altered Jupiter. Humanity and intelligent Pan-chimpanzees are recreated by four Guardians made of nano-technology sent towards the stars from the dying Earth, to bring back mankind. One ship is stuck in the Kuiper Belt until it begins to fall towards the new sun and the crew are activated.
I was able to take early retirement through a legacy and continued to write the next book following on from Genesis 2, called The Genesis Debt. These have both been self-published on Amazon some years ago. Some time ago, I decided to put all 15 years-worth of writing in the hands of a new publisher and spend some of my sons’ inheritance and get them all self-published!
While writing Weapon I decided to link all the books together as ‘The Genesis Project’ and write all the books into a series. I wrote a forth; - ‘The Genesis Search’ set hundreds of thousands of years after the events that occurred in Weapon. This part of the saga concerns the deliberate collision of the Andromeda Galaxy with ours in the far distant future. What kind of entity could cause this to happen and why? This book attempts to settle those questions and concerns building a hunter/killer group from the ones who defeated the ‘Goss’ in Book Three by going back in time to remove their DNA and clone them, restoring their stored minds into young healthy bodies. At the same time whole solar systems are being rebuilt and moved by wormhole technology to the other side of our galaxy to be launched as a globular cluster towards the Greater Magellanic Clouds and safety.
Whilst writing this forth book the idea came to me, that the group of mixed human and aliens would find themselves having to deal with the abandoned machine intelligence of Von-Neumann probes left behind by the events produced by the ‘Harvester’ and this would be worth considering as the fifth Book;– Genesis 3, A New Beginning. I then considered what would happen after this universe runs down and how to build a new one to take its place!
During the writing of Genesis 3 I began to think about Elf War and decided to finish that one, before writing the end of the Genesis Project. That was a very busy couple of years! The Elf War followed and by so many asking if I could go back to the Elf World, I did and Molock’s Wand was the result. Imagine Elves armed with AK 47’s and mind pressing T Rex’s to hunt down the Dark Elves??? There is no magic in these stories, just elfin physics. I followed this book with Star Seed Awakening, where Peterkin has to pit his wits against the Collective. This creature can run an entire eco system to suit itself. It is motivated by the urge to spread its seeds and if it can learn how to manipulate the Rifts that separate the parallel worlds it will spread throughout the multiverse dominating all life.
Star-seed Awakening was my third book in the Elf War series. I did enjoy writing this series, but as I said before, I did not use magic;- only Elf science in this series of stories. Developing the persona of Peterkin, the reluctant High King was fun. Someday I would like to return to that strange set of parallel worlds and find out what happened next????
I hope that you will enjoy reading these books as much as all the others and as much as I have enjoyed writing them!
I have continued to write many more stories both Sci-Fi and Fantasy, but due to the cost of self-publication and my limited knowledge of how the system works I have filled my BLOG with many more for anyone to read. This is the link to my Blog: http://sci-fiauthor.blogspot.co.uk where you will find The Enchanted Land consisting of five linked stories; The Seven League Boots, Ogre, The Southern Witch, Orc, The Changeling.) The Rising of Ixias. 19 tales of the Ferryman and many more. Skull Percy and the Dragon’s Blade.
Look in the index and you may join in the discovery of the contents that lie beyond the Vaults of my Imagination. 11,792 people have passed the threshold...I INVITE YOU TO JOIN THEM!!

Genesis 2
Science Fiction
The Genesis Project spread mankind to the stars using Nano-ships before the sun expanded into a red giant. As immense periods of time are needed to travel at sub-light speeds across interstellar distances, the ship's artificial intelligences are shut down to save energy. One ship becomes caught amongst the comets in orbit around the sun and stays trapped for over six million years.
The ship's random orbit is disturbed and the crew re-activated by the increased energy levels as they fall towards the sun. The old civilisation is long gone and Jupiter is teeming with natural and seeded life. The world is no longer a gas giant, as the expanding sun tore off most of the miles deep atmosphere.
A massive mountain range divides Jupiter and on one side lives a sentient species known as the Gnathe. These people control their world by manipulative genetic engineering of their own people and the creatures that they find useful.
On the other side of this mountain range live the re-created humans and intelligent apes and when they interfere in the affairs of the Gnathe a chain of events is set in motion that will forever change both societies.

Genesis Debt: The Genesis Project
Science Fiction
Genesis Debt is a sequel to Genesis 2. Long after the sun has entered its red giant stage, the human race is recreated by nannite Guardians on a Jupiter that has had its great gas mantle stripped away. Instead of a gas giant the nannite crew find a seeded world teaming with life on a super continent that stretches from pole to pole.
Several years after the defeat of the Tyrant, Ender-whann-soo’s Brood-mother daughters devise a way to reach out to the people of Earth six million years into the past. In doing so, the riddle of the Gnathe’s existence on Jupiter will at last be explained and the possibility of saving the human and ape civilisation from the danger of the expanding sun become a reality.
To do this will mean using the airship again to find a large time-distorting crystal that was once hidden under Jupiters Red Spot. The resurrection of the deposed Empress can lead to an alternative reality that could create a paradox in time.
The blood debt of the Gnathe will be paid in full or Link-soo-shan’s revenge will destroy them all. ‘The Genesis Debt’ will be paid by the Gnathe.

Genesis Weapon
Science Fiction
Due to Link-soo-shan’s efforts a wormhole system is established between Jupiter and the Three Worlds that orbit Icarus. Centuries later a thriving civilization begins to grow on the Three Worlds. But then, suddenly and without warning the connection is severed, lasting centuries. An alien weapon of mass destruction arrives at the newly settled worlds with the chilling statement ''I am Toarvak 6, destroyer of worlds, servant of the Kresh. You are not Kresh. Toarvak 7 has been informed. I am the Will and the Way. You must all die. Purity will be maintained''. Something brings Toarvak 6, the ancient agent of death to an abrupt halt, but the Three Worlds are reduced to scrabbling through the ruins of the old civilization. Far out on the fringes of this galactic arm is a far greater menace then the Kresh destroyer. A telepathic freak of nature that lives inside and controls sentient life and animals is slowly rebuilding an empire. Death is no escape from the Goss.

Genesis Search
Science Fiction
One day the Andromeda galaxy will collide with ours. What if it was deliberate? What if the impending collision has been speeded up, so that it will threaten the whole civilisation in the Milky Way and destroy them all? What will the Council of Worlds do to prevent this happening?
If the Kresh and the Gnathe have been travelling back in time to rescue alien civilizations from the deliberate destabilisation of their stars, before the Harvester can feed on the extinguished life force, an ancient enemy has been formed!
To combat this menace, a search through time is instigated to find those who waged war against the Goss. The galactic civilization of the Milky Way move stars and worlds into a globular cluster and launches it towards the greater Magellanic cloud to escape the impact of the galaxies leaving the time-fished aliens to face the Harvester.
Link-soo-shan gets involved with genetically engineering a new type of human being that can see into the future. Kamiel sends an expedition composed of useful aliens, to the Andromeda galaxy to free the intelligent species living there from the yoke of the Harvester. In doing this he creates potential world minds and in doing so, he creates a galactic society bound by the telepathic abilities of the Goss that can control wormholes. In time he launches an armada of Toarvaks against the energy being that feeds off the life force of sapient species.

Genesis 3
Science Fiction
There is a machine intelligence left over by the Harvester’s actions that is settling solar systems and obliterating life, in its expansion of territory. An alien people sent self-replicating probes to planets orbiting nearby stars and never had the chance to settle these worlds. The sentient survivors of the war against the Harvester form a strange alliance with one of the Collectors to try and defeat the Janis probes. This being becomes the ‘Farmer’ that spreads sentient life so that it can absorb and store them for a purpose of its own.
In the past, one hundred thousand light-years away from where the Harvester slept uneasily something watched the wormhole activity with curious senses. The plan had been to cannibalise the replicated probes and the mining machines when the Janise had developed their own interstellar ships and had arrived at the prepared world. The Harvester had exploded their sun before they had any chance of doing this.
Toarvaks had slipped through the life barren systems it dominated and out of sight using wormholes. They were seen and recorded with the information sent back. The central intelligence had no knowledge of wormhole technology as it relied on psychic power to open one. So it patiently waited and built a flytrap.

The Elf War
Science Fiction
Thousands of years in our past Light Elves fled to our world pursued by the Dark Elves. They stayed here until we began to use iron in large quantities. Keeping to the unwritten law that Elves do not harm Elves, they moved on, taking Neanderthal man with them when the Dokka'lfar opened a rift into our world. The Ljo'sa'lfar are pacifists and have managed to evade the Dark Elves who would indulge in their cannibalistic tendencies once they had the Light Elves in their power.
Now after thousands of years have gone by the Dokka'lfar have found the Ljo'sa'lfar again, on another parallel Earth. They have been trying to pierce the poisoned brier, grown by the Ljo'sa'lfar for two centuries, inside the great gorge, entrance to the lands of the dinosaurs. At the center of this giant crater are the Ljo'sa'lfar who live inside a castle with small towns spreading down the mountainside.
After getting the High King's daughter pregnant, the punishment meted out to an elf called Peterkin sets in motion a chain of events that propels him into the annuls of history. He becomes the legend foretold by a dwarf dream-seer long ago after Abaddon the Dark Lord and his forces killed and ate a thousand dwarves before the brier closed.

Star-Seed Awakening
Science fiction/fantasy
The Collective had evolved at the very dawn of time, and now it had found a way to propagate by building a gigantic tree-entity which could spread its seeds to new worlds far across the universe. The Velociraptors of Haven have acquired a Spellbinder, enabling them to explore parallel universes. Having found a dinosaur-dominated Earth copy, they encounter one of the tree-entity’s seed-capsules at the end of its billion-year journey. Through its seeds, the Collective has mindlessly begun to enslave all life on the planet and to direct evolution. Now, for the first time, it has found intelligent life – the Raptors – which promises to bring it the power of awareness. Now Peterkin, the High King, is faced with a terrifying problem. If the Collective can learn how to manipulate the space-time Rifts that separate the worlds from each other, it will spread its seeds to all the parallel Earths in the multiverse, dominating all life. Can he prevent this – and what price will he have to pay?
