Aruna M. Lepore
Aruna M. Lepore was born and raised on the Caribbean island of Trinidad (and Tobago). She did not expect to write and illustrate a children’s book, but she certainly has found a passion in doing so. She earned an MBA at the University of Florida in 2003, and returned to her country to continue co-directing a manufacturing company with the owner, her mother.
It was during her 1998 BBA degree at the University of Miami that she met her future husband, and they married many years later and America became her new home. They began a family, and once motherhood took a hold of her, she hung up her corporate hat and stayed at home to raise their children. During the static pandemic year she turned a passive passion into reality. She used her natural appetite for story-telling and writing, her love of painting, and her children’s encouragement, and focused it all into creating her first picture book. She attributes her mother’s gentle values to her book’s theme, and the influence of growing up in a kaleidoscopic island to the vibrancy of her illustrations. She already has plans for creating her next book. |
