City of the Legions is a salacious warts and all saga of victor and vanquished in the European theater of experience. I use The Roman camp of Castra Deva as a linchpin for a story of ambition, desire, and determination. Mistress Deva is never a saint. Her country is being overrun. She will use beauty and skill to assimilate into this new world order.

Historical saga
A sequel to City of the legions; the Founding fathers. This is another warts and all story of ambition and desire as our Brittonic brethren strive for assimilation with their new masters. No one invented saints in the first century Ad. There is a hint of something shocking when Aurelia bends the rules, though a little suffering is good for the soul the Gods decree it.

This continues the City of the Legions saga into Volume 3 the new conquerors. Norman kings were never saints and the women of this story do not always behave like ladies. Prepare to become a little shocked I tell it as it was not how you think it was. In the eleventh century, most nobles had a similar attitude. They wed for profit and not love, married off sisters and daughters to aid in the body politic. Fighting was a profession; a hobby, and a sport. Think no battle today either hunt dumb animal or lay siege to neighbour’s castle. Master not at home steal possessions including lady, and always live in lively manor.

Historical saga
This saga moves into the Norman era. French is the first language as the sons of the Conqueror struggle to build their power bases. Duke Robert's younger brothers do not take no for an answer. Deva enters the bear pit as a starry eyed blond beauty. A woman uses what she has is this brave new man’s world. Her brothers are also courtiers and there hangs this tale.

Imagine an airfield as American C47s fly in to move soldiers to stem a Japanese attack. Eight nurses, lost during the debacle, fly out with the troops. Each experiences life in its deadly facets. Few expected to come out of the jungle alive and for many they are right. Picture Emma the American Puritan from New England, Georgina the English Aristocrat and their British Empire colleagues that includes two Eurasians. There is a black master sergeant from Harlem and a Jewish pilot from Yonkers to add to the mix.
