Adam Dreece
Adam's debut novel, Along Came a Wolf, launched in April 2014 and started the much loved series, The Yellow Hoods. Quickly followed up with the second in the series, Breadcrumb Trail, Adam showed that he'd ended more than 25 years of only writing short stories to be shared with friends.
Quickly both books became Amazon best sellers, and Adam shifted from being a software architect with 20 years of experience, to being a full time author. He brings that technology experience and understanding to the emergent steampunk series The Yellow Hoods, and plans to releasing more science fiction in the years to come. He resides in Calgary, Alberta, Canada with his family, and continues to deliver rock solid young adult fiction that is layered for the mature reader. |
The Yellow Hoods - Along Came a Wolf (Book 1)
Science Fiction / Steampunk, Fairy Tale
A deadly threat comes to a small mountain town hunting for the first ever steam engine plans. Only a trio of twelve year olds (Tee, Elly and Richy) and a few friends stand in the way, unaware of the legends they would one day become. Before they’d learn of secret societies, cross paths with the Ginger Lady, or see airships rain down fiery destruction, they had to come together as the Yellow Hoods. This seemingly innocent prequel to the darker Pieman Saga (The Yellow Hoods books 2-5) introduces the reader to a world on the verge of a Steampunk revolution (i.e. Emergent Steampunk). Our classic fairy tales are based on their real events and people, including master inventor and loving grandfather, Nikolas Klaus - part Santa Klaus, part Nikola Tesla. A tale of gripping adventure, whimsical humor and fun. Great for kids (9+) and adults alike. Sample - The Yellow Hoods - Along Came a Wolf |

In an act of desperation, inventor Maxwell Watt entrusts his son to secretly deliver plans for his completed steam engine to Nikolas Klaus, a master inventor in another kingdom. When the Fare, the nefarious secret society, learns the game-changing invention’s plans are en route, they accelerate their own scheme to neutralize Klaus on their path to reclaiming long-lost control over kingdoms. Meanwhile, after a decade of relative tranquility in Mineau, local children have started to go missing—again. Captain Archambault suspects the return of the disturbing and depraved Ginger Lady. With the help of Tee, Elly, and Richy—the Yellow Hoods—the search is on to find the missing children before it is too late. What is the secret that ties one of the Yellow Hoods to the Ginger Lady? Who are the Red Hoods? The world is 1800s-eque, with a thrilling history that is discovered throughout the series. Elements of fairy-tales are woven in, as if these were the real world events that inspired the tales and rhymes we know. Sample - The Yellow Hoods - Breadcrumb Trail |
The Yellow Hoods - All the King's-Men (Book 3)
Science Fiction / Steampunk, Fairy Tale
More than a hundred years ago, a king declared that all geniuses, scientists and inventors were abominations, save for those willing to become his Conventioneers. His edict spread like wildfire to the other kingdoms, and drove the hunted into the arms of the secret societies, the Tub and the Fare. Decades later, having taken control of the remains of the crushed Fare, a young Marcus Pieman follows up on rumors of a homeless, teenage Abominator in his city. When the scared Nikolas Klaus looked up at Marcus for the first time, a tremendous bond was forged. Has Nikolas been part of Marcus’ plans from the beginning? Has Marcus been a pawn of the original Fare the entire time? A betrayal leads Tee to a showdown with her greatest foe. Who breaks and who lays bleeding in the middle of nowhere? And Mounira learns the truth about the once great inventor, Christophe Creangle. |
