Rowan Hugh Patrick O’Neill was born in 1987 in Dublin, Ireland. He graduated with a Master’s Degree in Materials Science & Engineering from University College Dublin. He now lives in Ireland and works as a mechanical design engineer. He is a part-time novelist.

Nero’s Nile is a historical fiction novel with a dark twist. It weaves together two parallel narratives set during the reign of Emperor Nero (37–68 AD): A historically accurate account of the Emperor’s rise and fall in Rome, and a fictional account of an expedition he commissioned to discover the source of the River Nile. An expedition which never returned.
