Michael Breen

Picture
Michael Breen is an author of speculative fiction. He has a background in theatre, used to write simple songs with good friends, and still listens to the same punk bands that he did in high school. Michael likes truthful fantasy, books that are fearless, and British TV shows. When not writing, he is usually thinking about writing or trying to figure out how a mandolin works.

Michael has won the Outstanding Fantasy award in the Independent Author Network "IAN" Book of the Year Awards (2024), the gold medal for fantasy in the Independent Publisher “IPPY” Book Awards (2023), the gold medal for young adult fantasy in the Readers’ Favorite International Book Awards (2023), and a bronze medal in the U.K.’s Wishing Shelf Book Awards (2022), among other accolades.

Ever the Night Road

Picture
Fantasy

In a city of water and glass, seventeen-year-old Dagny Losh searches for some kind of connection to a changing world. When an orphan boy of the marsh goes missing, Dagny’s determination in rescuing the child from a decaying oracle tower sets events in motion that lead her to discover a fragment of her old life, before the river washed everything away. A fragment once thought forever lost, and it will take all she has to protect it.

A story of misfits and rogues, crumbling palaces and slums, and a deep underground, all joined together by fate and the stars… For the Night Road connects all things, if one only knows where to look.

Ever the Night Road is the first book in a two part series.

Fantasy

The sequel to the award-winning indie novel, Ever the Night Road.

This is a fantasy. Of a shifting city hidden in the weeds. Of princesses turned to metal and rust. Of knights eternal and a queen of dreams. And a deep underground.

The adventure continues where Ever the Night Road left off. Now eighteen, Dagny Losh must brave the mythical, labyrinthine city of Jud, where streets and buildings shift with the twilight, and each door and alleyway may give rise to the most unexpected encounters.
