JT Hume
JT Hume started life as a rambling man. Born in El Paso while his US Army parents were stationed in Texas, he's been boots-dry in forty-plus states and lived in three countries. He's a proud Nevadan and product of the Silver State's K12 and higher education system, and he proudly served in the United States Air Force.
JT Hume’s books are formed from his knowledge and interest in politics, government, and Nevada. His characters are pushed through strategies honed over many years of playing bad chess. You might say his books are flavored with the love and romance he’s shared with his soulmate over their decades together. Please read his books and reach out to him with questions, corrections, or constructive criticism. Thank you. |
Zoey
Sci-Fi, Romance
What makes us real? Zoey Malone is the FBI's most unique financial analyst who hides and thrives alone in her tiny cubicle in the corner, or so she believes, but a history-making event sends her to a distant and remote Nevada valley where she must decide if a local rancher is a danger to the entire human race. Reviews: "'Zoey'" is an entertaining, yet hard to categorize, novel. I will settle on romance. Romance with alien contact, an FBI connection, abductees, and teleportation. Most of which takes place in the Nevada desert. Somehow it all comes together. Very well. Author JT Hume makes it happen. The result is a very enjoyable literary journey." I thoroughly enjoyed this story. It took a while to warm up to the main character, but I liked her growth and how things turned out. The descriptions of the Nevada countryside, life on a dude ranch, small company-town, and the townsfolk were very well done. At times I could picture the sunrise and almost smell the hay. The story itself was interesting and if it continues in another book I will happily pick that up to read. |
Serving Salvation: Book One
Sci-Fi
Leaving a home decimated by war and disaster, humanity's last Apocalypse Ship nears the end of its three-thousand year journey, but humans continue to be human. A drunk is pushed into consciousness after his brother's tragic murder. A key leader comes to a life-changing decision to end her throuple, and the ship's most senior priest spins his webs of intrigue and conspiracies. And a mass murderer shadows their every move while killing without remorse. The crew of the Salvation struggles to prepare for landfall, but will they save themselves in time to see their new home? Review: "This is not my usual genre of book to read however, I have read several other books by this author and always found them quite good so I decided to give this one a try. I am glad that I did! This story brings so many interesting ideas and concepts. While it has an interesting sci-fi background, to me it was so much more. The book has many fascinating and diverse characters with several sub-plots, including political intrigue, sociological upheaval and even a little romance. Even if the book hadn’t ended with a cliff hanger I would be buying book two. Can’t wait!" |
A Sheriff In Nevada
Murder Mystery
The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office has the same mission as the NYPD and LAPD: protect the public, investigate crimes, and arrest lawbreakers. The difference is Sheriff Maggie Doane has six deputized officers to patrol hundreds of square miles of remote Nevada mountains and deserts. After dodging a close attempt on her own life, finding the bad guy takes all her willpower and attention, despite the distraction of a sick father and intrusions of old boyfriends. These and other challenges await in "A Sheriff in Nevada." Review: “I'm not entirely sure what it was that caught my attention in an early draft of this book but I was instantly hooked by the story. I wanted to read more. More about this strong Sheriff out in the middle of nowhere, more about the independent folks who know what community is all about, more about what makes this place tick. Definitely glad I could spend more time in this story and following along with Maggie as she works to discover what's going on in her small town all the while trying to keep the peace between its citizens.” |

This book soars from a high school basketball court to an Afghan battlefield to the Governor's Mansion and beyond, giving an insider's look to the chaotic landscape that is American electoral circus, reminding the reader that "politics is war without bloodshed while war is politics with bloodshed." Reviews: "The story has a good pace and is easy to read. Gives some nice inside information through a likable character. Would have liked to have more at the end when things were really getting interesting. Maybe the hinted sequel??" "Great debut from a new author. Nicely developed characters. Her new bosses seem to hate her and her family cuts her off, and her new life is going off the rails until a chance encounter with a young homicide detective. Can she save him after a tragic officer-involved shooting and maybe, just maybe, find their happily ever? This is the first of the Emma Parks series, followed by "Saturday's Child" and "Emma Forgiven." Review: "I enjoyed every minute of this read. JT Hume seems to know his social services. As someone deeply acquainted with this field, this story is not far fetched at all. I like the main character, Emma, and her boss, their relationship is interesting. Also, the back story on the main character is complex and will continue, I'm sure, to interfere with her life. Also, the romance is fun. If you enjoy gritty fiction, you'll enjoy this book." |

Emma Forgiven
Urban Fiction
The third book in the Emma Parks series. Emma is a CPS worker in poor urban service area that is exploding at the seams with violence and hate. The riots and marches threaten everything she believes in, yet the worst part: the chaos is all her fault. Not only does the family hold her at arm's length, they’re suing her to keep what they think is theirs. On top of all this is devastating news: she may lose her baby. "Emma Forgiven" is preceded by "Hope Knocks Twice" and "Saturday's Child." Review: "A little murder--a little romance--a little heartbreak--and plenty of intrigue to keep those pages turning. I wasn't quite sure what to expect in a novel based on a CPS caseworker, but J.T. Hume didn't let me down. I was given characters I could clearly envision, and even though I may have initially viewed them as a bit stereotypical, the author began to add layers and depth as the story progressed and by the end, I felt as if I'd made a few new friends. I'm hooked and willing to follow Emma Parks through further dilemmas!" |

Reviews: "I must say I'm not usually a fan of romance books but I enjoyed every page of this one! I loved the part about Alaska as a setting. I felt like I was really there and experienced how harsh and cold it is. I enjoyed the twists and turns of the plot and the female and male perspectives. It was a fun read. I highly recommend this for anyone wanting to enjoy a feel good story. It's a sweet, non-spicy romance." "From Tundra to Tiara is a wonderfully cozy way to spend a lazy afternoon. The characters are relatable and the settings let you drift away to more interesting places. I would recommend this for anyone looking to relax and enjoy a good read." |
