Jonathan Dyer

Dyer joined the Army in 1981. After basic combat training he spent 18 months learning Russian and 6 months immersed in cryptologic training before shipping out to Field Station Berlin. From 1983 through 1986 Dyer worked at the National Security Agency’s intercept site in Berlin. While Dyer was in Berlin he married fellow Russian linguist Kerry Dyer. They have been married for 40 years. For more than 30 of those years they lived in California’s Wine Country where Dyer practiced law and taught Government, U.S. History, and Criminal Law. In 2021, they retired to Georgetown, Texas to be closer to their daughter who lives and works in Austin. Dyer is the author of 12 books. Greg Scarpa, Legendary Evil, a finalist in the 2025 Independent Author Network Book of the Year awards, is his first work of nonfiction.
