Tony Sage, a financial consultant is about to go to jail for bilking thousands of investors out of their money in a Ponzi Pyramid scheme. Before he goes on trial, he wants revenge on the man who had a one night stand with his wife, Michael Wells, a lawyer with Wells, Carmichael, Lane, and MacGregor.
What started as a fight in the back of a strip club between the two ended in the murder of Tony Sage. Michael stands accused of the murder because he was found unconscious next to the body with the murder weapon, a knife in his hand.
Enter Jack Roscoe, Private Detective and former Navy Seal. He is hired by the firm to solve the murder. The problem: Jack doesn't like lawyers, especially ones who specialize in non-compete agreements. Wells, Carmichael, Lane, and MacGregor is one of the largest law firms in this field.
Even though Jack has two friends whose lives were ruined due to their non-compete agreements, he decides to handle the case. Jack will be battling mobsters, a motorcycle gang, and several convicts, all while helping Rebecca Martinez, a victim of domestic violence, in an effort to solve this case and get the money back for the investors. By the end of the story, Jack hopes to teach the lawyers of Wells Carmichael, Lane and MacGregor a lesson that they will never forget.

It's the summer 2010, Allentown, Pennsylvania. Doc Halladay has joined The Philadelphia Phillies in a bid to go back and win the World Series after losing to the New York Yankees in 2009.
6 months ago, Don Gunn's wife died in a car accident. Now he is on the verge of losing his job and career at Blake & Yurman, an advertising agency, because of his non-compete agreement which will keep him out of the industry for 2 years.
Things seem to look up for Gunn when he meets Kim Hunter, a woman who is nearly half his age, a woman that he can only dream about. He goes on a date with Kim that night which will be the beginning of his worst nightmare. Suddenly, people are following him, camping out by his apartment. 5 people are murdered by a serial killer and Kim Hunter is a person of interest in all of the murders.
As Gunn races through interviews in order to find a job before he is fired from Blake & Yurman, his life is spiraling out of control, putting the lives of his closet friends - Natalie Mendoza and Doug Kimball - in danger. As a result, Gunn is forced to determine who the serial killer is before he is the next victim.

The employees sit back and worry about losing their jobs on a daily basis and wonder how they will earn a living in their chosen profession since they will be deprived of a living over the next 3 years due to their non-compete agreement.
Now Private Detective Ozzie Rivera is hired to investigate the murder of the Herman Pearson, nicknamed Herman Monster, the general manager of the station. He has plenty of clues and a multitude of motives that lead him towards 4 suspects in the murder. As Rivera probes the suspects, he also learns the lessons of greed in Corporate America and hears of more people in other industries who lose their jobs and and can't work in their industry due to their non-compete agreements that never expire. In the end, Rivera follows the irresponsibility of management and its abuse of power which leads him to the answers he needs.
